Video & Photo Setup
Updated May 2024
All the gear I’m listing here are used as tools to run my content creation and production business. My tip for you is to grab the basics of what composes of these and find the gear that works for your budget. Any updates I make will have explanations listed.
For my videos I do shoot in a LOG format for my Sony and Fuji Cameras. Specifically S-Log-3 with S-Gamut3.Cine and Flog2 for Fuji.
Sony and Fuji provide LUTs that convert these to rec709. I do have my own creative LUT that I use for my content that you can use as well.

This has been my main workhorse for the past year. Amazing hybrid camera for production work and creating content. I rigged this out for production and using it for client shoots.
This is my go-to apsc camera for vlogs and youtube content in general. So much power in a small body. The best part about this camera is that it doesn’t attract too much attention when you’re in public since it looks like a tourist camera.
This is my go-to camcorder for recording memories and creating youtube videos. This camcorder has such an amazing color profile and has a unique look. Couldn’t recommend it enough
This is my go-to POV camera and whenever I need to do some really sick angles.
This is my go-to lens for most professional photo and video work especially with really flexible range.
This is my go-to lens for video content and any higher production vlogs.
This is my workhorse of a lens for my Fuji body. This acts as a 24-70 for the apsc body. Amazing lens and couldn’t recommend it enough.
This is my go-to lens for photo runs and some unique photoshoots.
DJI Mic - This is one of my favorite mics to use, there is feedback issues but I heard the DJI Mic 2 solves that.
Rode VideoMic Pro + - I like using this mic whenever I have to blockout extra noise. Really good vlog mic.
Shure SM7DB - This is one of those industry microphones that are for professionals. Recommend if you have extra cash.
Zoom H6 - I use this recorder as an interface for the SM7DB and to record clients.
Elgato LP Mic Arm - This mic arm is such a good mic arm. Very streamlined.
Lighting
Godox SL100bi - I use this for as the main light for videos whenever my face is not lit enough.
Godox TT685ii-S - This is my main flash that I use for flash photography for clients and the home studio.
Godox XT2s - This is a wireless trigger that I use to trigger the flash listed above. Allows for flexibility.
Godox Lux Junior- This is my fun flash that I use for fun client shoots and with friends. Very retro
Smallrig RA-D55 Softbox - I use this to soften the light hitting my face and the client’s face.
Monitor & Batteries
Portkeys PT6 - A monitor that I got because monitoring with just the native screen is a bit of a hassle.
Neewer V Mount Battery - This battery powers the whole rig system whenever I do a higher production shoot.
Tripod and Misc
Ulanzi F38 Video Travel Tripod - This is the newer version of the tripod that I built out. They combined the video head with the F38 travel tripod. I recommend this since it’s light and you’ll take it with you.
Neewer C-Stand - This is used for overhead shots and getting b-roll. Also used for photography shoots.
Manfrotto Pixie - This is my travel tripod that is small and compact. Usually used for vlogs when I walk around.
